This book is about creating new festivals by participating in the spiritual reality behind the earth's own life processes. The author, an Australian-born lecturer and writer, describes the nature of the spiritual forces that become active during each season in both northern and southern hemispheres. He presents folkloric traditions about the world of faery and the earth-energies at key festival times, and relates these to research undertaken by Rudolf Steiner. The life-processes of both hemispheres of the earth are depicted out of a deep understanding of the spiritual and elemental reality that underlies the cycle of the year. These life-processes are then considered from the viewpoint of esoteric Christianity. On the basis of these dynamics that occur at solstice or equinoctial times, the author describes the formation of four new festivals, appropriate to each hemisphere. The result is an entirely new cycle of festivals which allows us to experience and understand the significance of the Earth-Goddess (Earth-Soul) and at the same time intimately connect this experience and understanding to the Christ-Power.
